Background
- Shopify have recently announced that from the 1st of February 2025 they will be removing some of the APIs that CatchFeeder uses to connect your CatchFeeder Account and your Shopify Store. Learn more about the Shopify Announcement.
- To ensure your CatchFeeder account is not impacted and we can continue to connect to your Shopify store we have started using some alternative APIs that Shopify provides. To use this new way of connecting Shopify and CatchFeeder, you need to uninstall then reinstall the CatchFeeder app in your Shopify admin site.
Impacted CatchFeeder Users
- Not all of our CatchFeeder users need to uninstall/reinstall the app.
- If you need to, you will receive a Dashboard notification like the one below and you will also receive an email.
What you need to do by the 15th of January 2025
- Follow the instructions below to Uninstall then Reinstall the CatchFeeder App - make sure you re-install straight after the uninstall as while the app isn't installed, CatchFeeder can't connect.
- Do this by the 15th of January 2025.
How to Uninstall/Reinstall the CatchFeeder App
- In Shopify click Settings on the bottom left navigation, then click Apps and Sales Channels.
- This will display all of your Apps and CatchFeeder will be in that list.
- Click on the 3 dots to the right of CatchFeeder and click Uninstall.
- You will be presented with a pop up to add a reason for removal, make a selection to continue.
- Next leave some feedback as per our example and click Uninstall.
- To Reinstall, click this link here to go directly to the CatchFeeder app in Shopify App Store.
- Click to Install and follow the setup steps.
- This wizard will now find your existing account/integration in CatchFeeder
- Click launch to go to your existing CatchFeeder account. You are now ready to use our new API's. Thank you for taking the time to complete this.
